With millions of new books released each year, the publishing process can feel overwhelming. At Scriptor House, our role is to serve as your trusted guide—from the earliest development of your idea to the moment you hold your finished book in your hands and beyond into full distribution.
Whether you are beginning with a concept, refining a manuscript, or preparing for launch, we simplify a complex process into a clear, manageable path. Our mission is to help writers, entrepreneurs, and leaders produce professional, high-quality books that represent their vision with excellence and long-term value.
- OUR COMMITMENT
We follow strict publishing standards and vet every project for editorial quality. If a manuscript is not yet ready for formal editing and production, we work directly with you in a coach or mentor capacity to strengthen it first.
Transparency is central to everything we do. Every deliverable is outlined clearly in writing before work begins. We are committed to quality, integrity, and realistic expectations—we do not make false promises. Our goal is simple: to ensure you feel proud when you hold your finished book for the first time. - OUR APPROACH TO PUBLISHING
All books published through Scriptor House meet the same high production standards used by the largest, established publishing houses. We combine professional editorial competitive in today's marketplaceBelow are key areas where authors benefit from working with us:
- DISTRIBUTION
Traditional publishers distribute primarily through four markets:• Amazon
• Barnes & Noble
• Independent Bookstores
• Miscellaneous Retail (Target, Walmart, Costco, Sam's Club, airports, etc.) While large publishers have strong wholesale networks, shelf space is extremely limited. New, unproven books are rarely granted bookstore placement without demonstrated sales potential-- and even when they are, placement is often temporary unless sales justify continued display. At Scriptor House, we combine national trade distribution with strategic use of your personal and professional networks. Through our distribution partnerships, your book is available through the same retail channels used by traditional publishers. We focus on sustainable, long-term sales rather than short-lived shelf placement. - MARKETING
Traditional publishers typically allocate marketing budgets toward books they believe will generate strong sales, often prioritizing established authors. Even then, marketing support is usually short-term.At Scriptor House, we promote new books through trade advertising, catalogs, and industry exposure. We also work directly with you to develop a marketing plan and, when desired, assist with marketing materials and advertising initiatives.Ultimately, the most powerful advocate for your book is you. We provide strategy, tools, and guidance to help you promote your work effectively and consistently.
- CREATIVE CONTROL
With many traditional publishing contracts, authors surrender significant control over editing, design, timing, and distribution. During the contract term, the publisher holds the rights—and publication timelines can extend significantly. At Scriptor House, you retain full control over your book and its rights. Your voice, your vision, and your decisions remain central throughout the process.
- PUBLISHING TIME
Traditional publishers often take 12–18 months (or longer) to release a book. At Scriptor House, production timelines depend on your responsiveness and project scope. Most books are completed within 3–4 months, allowing you to bring your work to market efficiently without sacrificing quality.
- EDITING & DESIGN
Like major publishing houses, Scriptor House works with experienced professional editors to ensure every manuscript meets high editorial standards. Authors receive:
• No fewer than two content edits • 5–10 proof edits • Additional professional reviews to provide fresh perspective and feedback
Book covers and interior formatting are created by skilled design professionals to ensure a polished, professional, and market-ready final product. - ROYALTIES & ECONOMICS
Traditional publishers may offer advances, though this is uncommon for new authors. Royalty rates typically range:
• 8–15% for print (10% average) • 20–25% for ebooksAt Scriptor House, we operate as a flat-rate partnership publisher. We do not take profits from the sale of your book. Revenue from sales goes directly to you, less standard distribution fees paid to distributors, wholesalers, and retailers (if enrolled in national distribution). This structure ensures that you retain ownership and the majority of financial benefit from your work.
